Neighbourhood Plans are local planning documents that are created by communities to shape development in their specific area. These plans cover topics including housing, transport, the environment and amenities.
Hartford’s existing Neighbourhood Plan  was created in 2016 by Hartford Parish Council (HPC) in consultation with other groups and residents.

Our plan has proven very useful to us so far. As well as guiding our work, we have used the plan to challenge and stop several planning applications, including the Care Home development on Chester Road, protecting the character of the village. We have also used the plan to successfully apply for over £221,700 in Community Infrastructure Funds, which we are using to improve our amenities.

We now want to refresh Hartford’s Neighbourhood Plan to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of our residents. We would love to have your views on the priorities for Hartford in terms of housing, traffic, green spaces and more.
