Picnic in the Park will be on Sunday 12 July 2026. The aim of the event is to come together as a village to socialise, relax and have fun. At the same time, the event enables community groups to raise funds and connect with residents. 

This year, we are hoping to make the event bigger and better. We are already planning lots of activities and entertainment. Get set to enjoy the following:

• Feel free to bring your own picnics, folding chairs and blankets
• There will be toilet facilities at the cricket pavilion on the park, including an accessible loo
• The car park next to the playground will be limited to Blue Badge holders for the event from 1 – 4pm
• The Grange Senior School has kindly said that people can use their car park for the event from 1 – 4pm. It is on Bradburns Lane, behind the school, near to their sports centre
• There will be lots of free games and entertainment. You may want to bring some cash for the community stalls, but the bar will have a card machine.

• Book a stall: Hartford-based charities, schools and community groups can book free stall spaces at the event by contacting clerks@hartfordparishcouncil.org.uk. Once you book, we will reserve you a space, and send you full information about the event and a few requirements for you to fulfil as a stallholder.

  (Please note – stall holders need to provide their own table/chairs and any other equipment they need. Stall set up is from 11am – 12.45pm on the day, and stalls can be dismantled after 4pm)

• Do a performance or run a fun activity: If you’d be interested in running any activities or entertainment at the event (e.g. sport activities, arts and crafts, music/dance performance etc) please email clerks@hartfordparishcouncil.org.uk with details of what you propose.
