Petanque and Boccia are otherwise known as ‘French Boules’. They are very sociable games, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Boccia is particularly inclusive – it is a Paralympic sport for all to enjoy. Take a look at the short films below to find out more. 

The outdoor court is available to all Hartford residents, free of charge. You can also borrow Pétanque and Boccia balls, and Boccia ball-ramps. The court is located behind the Village Hall (the black and white building near the tennis courts) at 244 Chester Road, CW8 1LW.

If you want to play on the court and borrow the kit, please email clerks@hartfordparishcouncil.org.uk or call 01606 784401. If you want to play within office hours (Mon – Fri), we can also arrange for the accessible toilet in the office porch to be open, should you need this.

Want to set up a Petanque / Boccia club?

We are keen for a Pétanque/Boccia Club to be established in Hartford. The club would take on the organisation and management of the space with the support of the Parish Council. Hartford Parish Council will assist in developing the facility with the Pétanque/Boccia club once it is formed.  If interested, please contact us.
