Hartford Parish Council meetings
Find out about Hartford Parish Council’s meetings, where to access the agenda and minutes, and how you can attend.
Hartford Parish Council holds several types of meetings throughout the year, as outlined below. These meetings are an important part of local democracy and are open to all residents. We warmly encourage you to attend, in person or online.
- Full council meetings are our main decision-making meetings. All of our councillors attend, and a wide range of parish matters are discussed. Our Police Community Support Officer, plus Councillors from Cheshire West and Chester Council, also usually give an update on matters of interest to the village. Meetings generally take place on the second Monday of each month (excluding August). Additional Extraordinary Meetings can be called at other times, if there is urgent business to transact.
- Committee meetings: Our three committees – Amenities, Human Resources (HR), and Finance Assets and General Purposes (FA&GP) – meet several times a year to plan and discuss matters relating to each Committee.
- The Annual meeting of the Council takes place each May. At this meeting, the Chair and Vice Chair are elected for the year, and policies and other regulatory items are approved.
We also organise Hartford’s annual Parish meeting, on behalf of the village. This event takes place sometime between 1 March and 1 June each year. The purpose of the meeting is to give electors a say on anything they consider valuable to people in the Parish.

Public participation
Want to raise an issue, question or idea at one of our meetings? If so, you have the opportunity to do this in the Public Open Forum section, immediately before the start of the meeting (see agendas for timings). This period is usually limited to 15 minutes. After this, members of the public are unable to take part, but can stay to listen to the proceedings of the meeting.
Please note, there may occasionally be a confidential item on the agenda – for example, to discuss an HR issue or a legal matter. If so, members of the public leave the meeting for this agenda item, as prescribed in the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.
