Information about Risk Assessments

All stallholders, food providers, performers and others providing products or services, (i.e. face painting) must submit a Risk Assessment to
the Fayre organisers when applying. Your risk assessment must detail how you will assess and avoid any risk to yourself, other stallholders, performers, volunteers,
staff and the public at the event. This may include trips, slips, falling stock, cash safety, and any other risks as identified.
Food stalls: if applicable, please ensure the risk of fire is covered in your assessment along with any precautions or measures, i.e. presence of location of fire extinguishers.

If you are new to risk assessments, you may wish to view this example of a Risk Assessment. NB. There may be items on this Risk Assessment that are not relevant to you. An online search can also help you understand Risk Assessment requirements.

Information about insurance
All stallholders, food providers, performers and others providing products or services must have Public Liability Insurance to a minimum of £5 million. Unfortunately, accidents and mishaps do occur and can incur hefty costs. You must provide the Fayre team with a copy of your Public Liability Insurance. If the insurance expires ahead of the beginning of the event, you will be required to ensure this has been renewed and that a copy has been provided to us ahead of the event. If your insurance expires and you have not provided an insurance renewal document, we reserve the right to forfeit your stall. You can check online for insurance deals. Money comparison sites detail competitive rates, particularly if you attend more than one event.

Information about Portable Appliance Test (PAT)
You must ensure that any electrical appliances you bring to the Fayre have been tested to confirm their safety in accordance with the relevant standards, i.e. PAT certified. This is normally a certification sticker on the plug. Check online for full details about PAT tests. Uncertified appliances will not be permitted at the event.

Information for stallholders about event safety and security
Once your stall location is confirmed (around 7 days before the event), please see info about St John’s Church Centre fire exits.

Whilst violent terrorist or marauding attacks are very rare at UK events, it is worthwhile giving some consideration to what you would do if there was an unplanned, unexpected incident.  For example, ensure you know the location of all exits, take note of your surroundings and give some thought to what you might do and where you might go.  You can also find information online, such as: Marauding Terrorist Attack: RUN.
