Our Council and Committee meetings

Want to join one of Hartford Parish Council’s meetings? Find out when and where they are held, and how you can join.

Hartford Parish Council’s meetings are open to members of the public, and we welcome anyone who wants to attend. You can join in person, or online via Microsoft Teams. See below for more information.

There may occasionally be a confidential item on the agenda – for example, to discuss an HR issue or a legal matter. If so, members of the public would need to leave the meeting for this agenda item, as prescribed in the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.

The meetings begin with a ‘Public Open Forum’. In this section, members of the public may speak – for up to three minutes per person – to raise issues or share ideas with Hartford Parish Council. A total of 15 minutes per meeting is allocated for public speaking.

After the Public Open Forum, the meeting follows the agenda. Councillors discuss the items on the agenda, and vote on any decisions.

When and where

  • Hartford Parish Council’s meetings are generally held at Hartford Village Hall (244 Chester Road, Hartford, Cheshire, CW8 1LW). The Village Hall has a ramp to the front door, and is all on one level inside. The front door does not open automatically, but there is a doorbell if you need assistance to enter. There is an accessible toilet inside the building. There are some spaces for car parking directly outside the Village Hall, including two Blue Badge spaces.
  • Occasionally, we hold meetings at the Green Field Pavilion. This is located on the Green Field, behind the Chester Road shops (near the allotments). The building also has a ramp to the front door, and an accessible toilet, and is all on one level inside. Again the door does not open automatically but you can knock for assistance. There is no parking at this venue, so we avoid this and opt for the Village Hal where we can.
  • You can join meetings online via Microsoft Teams. The link is published in the agenda.
